Mac OS X Lion was previewed to the public by Apple last October, with a release date of July 2011 mentioned.

Lion will cost $31.99, and has over 250 new features. Most interesting, it brings 'Back to the Mac' many features from iOS, the operating system that runs on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
For more info about Lion and the new features, have a look at the Lion page on the Apple website.
Or see a video of some of the new features in action here.
As July is now here, it's exciting to see that developers have been seeded with a GM build of Lion. A GM, of Golden Master build is a release that if all goes will, could be the final version. This indicates Lion should be with us very soon.
